ace of hearts
Spent years learning the rules
Of a game too complex
No one would ever teach
“Just play the hand you’re dealt,
Unless that hand of yours
Has something left missing”
A foreign word on show
Plastered over the world
And expected of me
Oh how good it must feel
To know what others mean
When they say
“I love you”
Plastic
Made to linger
For a lifetime
Or a few more
In other skin.
As fake as anything could be.
So practical,
So romantic !
Disintegrate,
And spread
Too thin.
Nobody daring to suspect
What it was contaminating.
